Traveling to the Philippines. I need help, please

Traveling to the Philippines. I need help, please?
If it isn't too much trouble, I was wondering if someone could help me with some info to do with traveling over seas. I've never flown before; it scares me. For a first time flier, I was wondering what I needed to fly to the Philippines? I'm a novice when it comes to flier--I don't know anything. I live in Columbus, Ohio, and I'm not sure if the nearest Airport has flights to Cainta, Rizal. So here is my first question. Where do I call to get a flight to Cainta, Rizal, Philippines? From Columbus, Ohio. Or the nearest airport? Second, and third question: Am I able to get a passport at the airport? If not, then where am I able to get one? How long does it take for me to be able to get it? One day, one week? Same day? Fourth question: Is there an online list of things I can not bring onto an airplane? I do not want to be held up anywhere, or have to get rid of anything I can leave at home. Thank you for your help. I appreciate your time, I really do. If there is any more information I should know about, please add it. Thank you very, very much.

1. the nearest airport is NAIA google it 2. get ur passport at your consulate in your place then it usually take about 1 month to process it. after u have a pssport u go get a visa. TOURIST VISA it is. are u staying here long? 4. avoid bringing sharp objects, watery things, even powder, bad odor stuffs, something like chemical thing and i think they also ban huge amount of money. pls declare it first in ur airport before departing.

Your trip to the Philippines.....check with a travel agency & web sites just to get ideas concerning your flight schedule. You can always pick & choose later. As far as your passport is concerned,go to your local or the main branch post office where you live & get all the info you need and apply. My passport only took about 3 weeks to arrive,im not very far from Columbus.By the way,a passport is all you will need for the Philippines up to a 21 day visit & anything over that you will need a visa.(what you can bring onto a flight) just go to any airline web site & you will have all the info your in need of.Hope this can get you started.Good luck & enjoy the Philippines......Mabuhay !

It is just land trip going to Cainta, Rizal. If it is your first time in the Philippines, I suggest you ask your friend to meet you at the airport. That should be most convenient. You process your passport from your home country. Airport travel tips. http://www.travel-wise.com/tw-flight-guide/airport-faq/dos-donts.aspx Carry On Luggage Knowledge Base http://www.travelweight.com/knowledgebase/browse/9/carryonluggage.html Finally, try to google your airport security guidelines to learn exactly what you can and may not take with you when you fly. Hope this helps. /rhythm

Here is a guide in applying for you passport. Just go to this link http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_830.html If you will be staying in the Philippines not more than 21 days, there is no need for a visa. There are many, you can choose one. Some agencies offer services in giving you how to do things. You can have a flight to Manila then take a taxi to get to Cainta, Rizal. If you are meeting someone in the Philippines you may ask her to pick you up in the airport so that you won't be taken advantage by some taxi drivers. Von Voyage!

Ok, starting with the flight... That is nothing to be scared of, and you will probably enjoy it. On the long haul, get an isle seat because you don't want to be crawling across anybody with somebody else's seat in their face just to get to the toilet. ~~~ you will pick up your plane in Columbus, and fly to Seattle, LA, or other connecting city. There you will transfer to another plane (probably a 747 or such), and take it to Manila probably with an intermediate stop like Tokyo or Taipei. Go to a travel agency, and they can arrange the whole itinerary including the airlines to your liking. Passport... I don't know if it still works that way, but I went to the county courthouse and got the application from the county clerk, filled it out, and paid $60 (but that was a long time ago). The processing took about 6 weeks. You don't need a visa if you stay 21 days or less. For more than that, most Philippine travel agencies will be glad to process you a 2 month visa. When you get to Manila (south side of the city), it's best to take a cab to a bus station (I hope somebody here can help you with the bus company and the stops) and take the bus. Otherwise you'll really get ripped off. Finally, do what I do. put your shaving kit (with all the bottles and tubes) except for an electric shaver if you have one, into your check-in bag. Same for liquids and such. My carry-on has my passport, IDs maybe a map, and 1 set of clothes including underwear just in case the big bag winds up in Tibet. (if that happens, the airline will deliver to your door). ~~~ Some more info: the wall sockets may look the same, but will fry whatever you plug in, unless you have 120-240VAC charger, or get yourself a transformer HERE (they're heavy) at any hardware store.

Houston Airport question

Houston Airport question?
I have been checking into flights from Mexico City to Columbus Ohio and they are ridiculously priced right now. So I have been exploring my options and have found Southwest is a cheaper way to go. Only thing is they do not fly out of Mexico so I thought about the bus to Houston from Mexico City. Can anyone tell me how far the bus station in Houston that the buses from Mexico arrive is from the Hobby airport in Houston?

the Bus Station (either Greyhound or El Expreso) are both in the Downtown Houston Area. The distance from there to Hobby Airport is 9.52 miles (via Interstate 45 South Exit Park Place Blvd./Broadway St. and turning right on second light which is Broadway.)
2 :
Please take the plane is more safety.

My advise is to take a flight to Houston first, then fly to Columbus. Check the prices.

Cheap flights and flying on a 747

Cheap flights and flying on a 747?
Never have had the chance, but I want to fly on a 747 to California. Here's what possible: Take Off- Dayton Ohio Columbus Ohio Cleveland Ohio Detroit Michigan Landings: San Fransisco Oakland San Diago Portland Oregon Klamath Falls, Oregon Medford, Oregon Reno, Nevada If there are no 747 routs between those, then what would be the cheapest flight? I'm on a tight budget. I can also fly into or depart from any airport close to any of those. Any Ideas? Thanks.

I doubt there are any flights within USA that are operated by 747 - The 747 presently do operate long international flights - Go to England, and pick a direct flight to Los Angeles, then maybe...?
2 :
There are no 747 flights between the cities you mentioned. Delta operates the 747 but that is for their flights to Asia. I don't know of any airline that flies the 747 domestically. United did use the 747 on some domestic routes due to a snow storm because a lot of passengers were stranded but that was a special case.

Flying with a 3 month old baby

Flying with a 3 month old baby?
I am flying from Phoenix to Columbus Ohio with my 4 month old baby girl. It'll be the first time flying with her.. Is there anything I should know about flying with babies that young? I am kinda scared because it's almost 4 hrs flight and I'll be flying alone with her. She usually doesn't cry but I am not sure what might happen when flying... I was told they don't have a changing table in the toilet, so how do mothers change their babies diaper? What should I be ready for when flying with a baby this young besides the sucking when landing and taking off?

I flew with my baby when he was only a month old. There are changing tables on airplanes, so don't worry. When the people see you with an infant, they are REALLY helpful. I would suggest you feed your baby before take off and before landing. Your baby might fuss/cry when take off and landing due to air pressure. You would be fine! don't worry!!

I traveled with my 7 week old alone for 4 hours. It went really well as she slept most of the time. Bring something for baby to suck on for take off and landing as their ears can bother them from the pressure. Most big planes have a changing table and some small ones don't. My daughter had a *messy* diaper the minute we took off and luckily I had a woman and her daughter sitting next to me who told me to just change her there, that they didn't mind. It wasn't ideal, but I changed her on my lap. Yuck, but what else was there to do? Bring a little toy for her to keep her entertained and a blanket because the plane can be cold.

Since you are allowed to gate check your stroller what I did was I wore my son in a baby carrier (the Ergo is AMAZING! I used mine until my son was over 15 months..cause it converts from a front to a back carrier) and I put everything else I wanted to take with me in the stroller so I didn't have to carry anything but my son. Plus they aren't allowed to ask you to take the baby off if shes in a carrier...so if shes asleep you wont have to worry about waking her up, just keep in mind she cant be in the carrier during take off or landing. I breastfed my son and took my boppy with me. I know it's close quarters but people would rather have a nursing baby next to them than a screaming one. I just had a blanket over us. If you are bottle feeding then I would make sure you have bottles made, again they aren't allowed to stop you carrying ready-made bottles or water for bottles if its for the baby. Lastly bring new toys and books that baby hasn't seen or played with. I ordered the toys from the top of the bag to the bottom, new toys on top, the last-ditch effort-favorite toy at the bottom. Good luck, like the one of the other people said, most people are really sympatheic and helpful...if you can ask if there are any empty seats so you can get next to one...otherwise PRAY for a grandparent! (They love seeing babies!)

heyyy im from AZ too.. I hate phoenix :( I think she might be fussy a little being scared and not knowing what is going on, just be sure to give her the right amount of comfort and attention and i think everything wil be okay!
5 :
make sure she's due for a feed or able to suck on your finger or a pacifer for when the plane takes off and comes down again. This will prevent her getting blocked and sore ears. Otherwise flying with little babies is bliss - they find the sound and gentle vibration very soothing and will sleep the whole way - take a good book!
