My ex was the President of the Chamber there a time ago. There are plenty of festivals going on in the summer, and there is a big festival to celebrate Columbus Day in October. Go to the Columbus Dispatch, or the Columbus Chamber on line to get information. Lots of shopping, and there is a German Town, and Greek Festival. Downtown is clean. Have fun!!!! Columbus is also the Capital of Ohio, so lots of history.

Anyone missed a flight on purpose

Anyone missed a flight on purpose?
Planning to travel to Atlanta, GA from Columbus,OH on Oct 21st but found the airfare to be pricey (around $529), whereas flight from Columbus, OH to Jacksonville, FL on the same day with 1 stop at Atlanta, GA is $100. Want to check whether I can book a ticket from Columbus, OH to Jacksonville, FL & discontinue my journey after Atlanta, GA. One way trip with no check-in luggage

OH David ,only you can think of something as wacky as that.
2 :
$100 total? That doesn't sound right... To answer your question though, you would be able to book that flight if ATL was your final destination and just skip the Jacksonville leg of the flight.
3 :
You can, but your return voyage (back to Columbus whenever you return) will most likely be canceled.
4 :
If you check luggage, it will continue on without you - so you'll want to only have carry on. Other than that, it shouldn't be a problem at all. You might even want to inform that at the counter so they aren't holding the seat for you.

that fine i somtimes do that to!
6 :
As long as it is a one trip with no checked luggage your fine. If it were round trip the system would cancel your return trip. If you had checked luggage they would consider it fare jumping and charge you the addition fee to pick up your luggage.
7 :
it may sound simple but it's not if you get off your flight at the connection point you could be in all kinds of trouble first of all it may just be a stop and the passenger wait on the aircraft in which case you could not deplane even if it is a connection and you don't get on the second half of the trip you could find homeland security all over you not worth it

I am traveling from new orleans to memphis. It is cheaper to fly to columbus($159), with a stop in memphis

I am traveling from new orleans to memphis. It is cheaper to fly to columbus($159), with a stop in memphis?
than it is to fly just to memphis($359). I don't understand this craziness. Would it be legal or ok for me to fly to memphis buying a columbus ticket? I would just not use the connecting flight to columbus, OH. I just don't know what would happen on my flight back to new orleans...I would be leaving from memphis instead of columbus....Any one have experience with this? or is it worth the trouble? Should I pay $200 more ?

It is cheaper because there is probably more competition with fares on the route to Columbus while there is less competition on the flight to Memphis (thus the higher fare). If you don't show up for one leg fo your journey the other legs will be canceled so I would definitely warn against it.

has anyone ever used vayama? what were your experiences? is there anything better?
I have to get tickets for a flight, columbus, ohio to stuttgart, germany [cmh to str] the dates are 6/5 to 7/19, the majority of the tickets I have found have been $1600. on vayama, I think the last time I checked, the cheapest was around $1300. this is the best deal I have found so far. is vayama any good?

Vayama is ok and trustworthy. Normally they have really good deals. Did you try Delta.com? They have pretty good connections to STR. I have checked your dates and Delta offers a fare of 1'194Dollars plus Taxes. I do not know if the rate offered by Vayama includes taxes or not, but it might be worthwhile to check out Delta.com as well.

I think you stumbled upon the best price out there. I'd say go ahead and book it before it disapears! If you do decide to book it, no need to worry. Vayama is a legit and reliable website.
