Cheap flights and flying on a 747

Cheap flights and flying on a 747?
Never have had the chance, but I want to fly on a 747 to California. Here's what possible: Take Off- Dayton Ohio Columbus Ohio Cleveland Ohio Detroit Michigan Landings: San Fransisco Oakland San Diago Portland Oregon Klamath Falls, Oregon Medford, Oregon Reno, Nevada If there are no 747 routs between those, then what would be the cheapest flight? I'm on a tight budget. I can also fly into or depart from any airport close to any of those. Any Ideas? Thanks.

I doubt there are any flights within USA that are operated by 747 - The 747 presently do operate long international flights - Go to England, and pick a direct flight to Los Angeles, then maybe...?
2 :
There are no 747 flights between the cities you mentioned. Delta operates the 747 but that is for their flights to Asia. I don't know of any airline that flies the 747 domestically. United did use the 747 on some domestic routes due to a snow storm because a lot of passengers were stranded but that was a special case.

Flying with a 3 month old baby

Flying with a 3 month old baby?
I am flying from Phoenix to Columbus Ohio with my 4 month old baby girl. It'll be the first time flying with her.. Is there anything I should know about flying with babies that young? I am kinda scared because it's almost 4 hrs flight and I'll be flying alone with her. She usually doesn't cry but I am not sure what might happen when flying... I was told they don't have a changing table in the toilet, so how do mothers change their babies diaper? What should I be ready for when flying with a baby this young besides the sucking when landing and taking off?

I flew with my baby when he was only a month old. There are changing tables on airplanes, so don't worry. When the people see you with an infant, they are REALLY helpful. I would suggest you feed your baby before take off and before landing. Your baby might fuss/cry when take off and landing due to air pressure. You would be fine! don't worry!!

I traveled with my 7 week old alone for 4 hours. It went really well as she slept most of the time. Bring something for baby to suck on for take off and landing as their ears can bother them from the pressure. Most big planes have a changing table and some small ones don't. My daughter had a *messy* diaper the minute we took off and luckily I had a woman and her daughter sitting next to me who told me to just change her there, that they didn't mind. It wasn't ideal, but I changed her on my lap. Yuck, but what else was there to do? Bring a little toy for her to keep her entertained and a blanket because the plane can be cold.

Since you are allowed to gate check your stroller what I did was I wore my son in a baby carrier (the Ergo is AMAZING! I used mine until my son was over 15 months..cause it converts from a front to a back carrier) and I put everything else I wanted to take with me in the stroller so I didn't have to carry anything but my son. Plus they aren't allowed to ask you to take the baby off if shes in a carrier...so if shes asleep you wont have to worry about waking her up, just keep in mind she cant be in the carrier during take off or landing. I breastfed my son and took my boppy with me. I know it's close quarters but people would rather have a nursing baby next to them than a screaming one. I just had a blanket over us. If you are bottle feeding then I would make sure you have bottles made, again they aren't allowed to stop you carrying ready-made bottles or water for bottles if its for the baby. Lastly bring new toys and books that baby hasn't seen or played with. I ordered the toys from the top of the bag to the bottom, new toys on top, the last-ditch effort-favorite toy at the bottom. Good luck, like the one of the other people said, most people are really sympatheic and helpful...if you can ask if there are any empty seats so you can get next to one...otherwise PRAY for a grandparent! (They love seeing babies!)

heyyy im from AZ too.. I hate phoenix :( I think she might be fussy a little being scared and not knowing what is going on, just be sure to give her the right amount of comfort and attention and i think everything wil be okay!
5 :
make sure she's due for a feed or able to suck on your finger or a pacifer for when the plane takes off and comes down again. This will prevent her getting blocked and sore ears. Otherwise flying with little babies is bliss - they find the sound and gentle vibration very soothing and will sleep the whole way - take a good book!

I want to travel to Peru in Summer 2007 (preferably beginning of June or beginning of July).?
Any inexpensive group tours? Do you know of any cheap flights? I am traveling from Columbus, OH to Lima. I want to stay a week and a half to two weeks. Unless in a tour, I will be traveling alone. Any suggestions?

Try links from page below

If youre not in a tour, try visiting some of the big cities. Lima, Arequipa, Cuzco are beautiful for their culture, buildings, and in general everything. If you decide to go to Cuzco and Macchu Picchu, try the Incan Trail. You walk through the mountains to Macchu Picchu as the Incans did. You walk and sleep on the mountains. Its very beautiful.

You should try first this links: Peruvian Embassy http://www.peruvianembassy.us/ you could check up if there's any consulate near your area that you could go personally, I checked it out but I couldn't find one. Then you should definitely check the Prom Peru site, this is the government organism in charge of promoting the country this is the website http://www.peru.info/perueng.asp it has everything you'll need to know about cheap flights, tours and everything you need to travel to Peru. Suggestions of places to visit are Lima, Cuzco (Machu Pichu), Huaraz, The Amazon (Iquitos), Arequipa, Puno, Cajamarca, Huancayo and Ayacucho. Everyone loves Peruvian food and with good reason, here is a Peruvian restaurant in Columbus Ohio (I don't know any more, I live in Maryland). You could check it out before you travel: Garcia's Restaurant 2573 North High Street Columbus, Ohio 43202 614.246.8008 Hope this helps you

You are wise to be asking questions and considering your options early. One of the things you should be sure to arrange for is travel insurance. Lots of things can go wrong and you will be glad you have this inexpensive insurance. I suggest you get it independently - not through an airline or a travel agent. That way there in no chance of a conflict of interest. The industry leader is TravelGuard. Go to http://www.wavehelp.com/travel-medical/index.htm and click on the red phone booth. You'll go to a page that shows you your options. Remember to buy the trip insurance within the first two weeks after you put down your first deposit of money for your trip - gets you some extra insurance benefits at no extra cost. Best wishes.

I have family there in Lima Peru'. June July is the south American winter. Not too cold in Lima since you are at sea level. But the weather will trick you. Very damp. The 59c.15c will seem a lot colder (but I am from Texas so what would I know). I have a brother-in-law that drives a cab and he can drive you to safe spots and will not charge you an arm and a leg. I love to go to Nazca in the south and caraz in the north. very safe and not a lot of tourist. if you need any more info, please feel free to ask.

If you're over 50, one of the best bargains going is the Overseas Adventure Travel's "Affordable Peru," with an extension or two. It's a small group and you don't have to worry about the details. We've been to Peru 4 times, 3 on tours and once on our own in contact with a guide there. It's a fabulous place to visit. Walking the Inca Trail is a bit of disappointment to many, as it is difficult and not all that clean (at least not a couple years ago). But there are trains and even helicoptors that will take you to Machu Picchu, which is a must-see. Do plan on spending at least one night there. You don't have to stay right at the top, but can stay in Agua Calientes at its foot.

If you do not go on a tour group, go north instead of south. Southern Peru would be colder in June and July. Remember, when it is summer here it is winter there. Northern Peru also is not as well traveled. I recommend Trujillo, Chan Chan, Sipan, Chiclayo (my wife's hometown), Cajamarca, Tucume and Lambayeaque. That area would be similar to Southern California in winter, mild temps.

How much will it cost to drive Honda accord from NYC to Columbus OH

How much will it cost to drive Honda accord from NYC to Columbus OH?
I don't drive as I live in NY, and am just wondering from people who drive all the time about how much this trip will cost me. I also haveto factor in breaking this trip up and staying in a relatively cheap hotel. But r/t flights are $220. I know..not so bad. BUT this is not our vacation...actually we don't like OH just have family there. We are paying for a cabin for the whole family reunion which will be costing a lot for just a weekend, and would rather not spend another$400 on flights. What is your opinion? Oh I will be borrowing my sisters car in MA so I will have to take a bus 4 hours up there to pick it up, and back. Is this feasible?

According to a map, it's about 550 miles one way from NYC to Columbus, so a round trip would be 1100 miles. An Accord gets roughly 25-30 mpg while filling up around $3.50 a gallon. Doing the math gets you in the neighborhood of $130-$150 in gas, which should be about 4 total fillups (2 each way). Is it worth it? It's about 8-9 hour trip each way, so that might be a consideration. If a roundtrip flight (I'd guess about 1.5 hours) is only $220, I'd take that option. It's not that much more money if you're traveling alone and saves you a ton of time. But if you don't have the money, then you don't have the money. Also, if you are traveling with anyone else (i.e. not alone), then it is much cheaper overall to drive, especially if you split the gas. I would do that if you can spare the time and coordinate the schedules.

Purchase domestic airlines ticket in US

Purchase domestic airlines ticket in US?
I know the flights but am unable to get my choices on any airlines website. In old days, we had travel agents. How can I pick flights I need and get the best price from Columbus to San Diego?

Give me the dates you need and I will find the best rate. I'm good at this.
2 :
try a few sites - expedia.com, orbitz.com and also try the airline you want to fly on. i almost always use southwest.com - easy to navigate and best prices
3 :
I can help you, I am the best travel agent around, let me know what flights you want and ill get the lowest rate.
4 :
Old days as if Travel Agents no longer exist.
5 :
You can go directly to the airlines website and get a listing of their flights. Travel sites wont give you that option and just as travel sites do, Travel Agents charge you for the same thing you can do on your own. I worked for an airline and Ive helped many people on Yahoo find deals and what they were looking for, and my services are free. Just remember some flight departure times will be more than others. Usually the cheapest flights are the last of the night, and it depends on the market and the need for certain flights at certain times. Shoot me an e-mail with your travel dates and I'll help you avoid being ripped off.

Try this site. It's cheaper than those big name websites most the time. Good Luck!

Are my airline flights tax deductible

Are my airline flights tax deductible?
The wife and I run a home-based horse boarding farm / business. Every year we take a trip to Columbus, Ohio to the Equine Fair show to get ideas and talk to other people with similar businesses. We've never bought anything from the show, but we are they in representation of our farm. I've never thought of it, but could our airline tickets to the show be considered a business travel expense? Thanks!

I have met similiar problem before, here list of sites http://webbiz3.notlong.com/2AA5GLl
2 :
Not from your description. You'd have to show a direct link between attending and generating business, not just a desire to go represent your farm and "get ideas."
