just sit down, buckle up and listen to instructions, take off and landing you have a sense of motion, once you are in the air you see little but clouds and you have no sense of forward motion, just the buzzing of the engines, if you hit rough air its like driving on a gravel road, you will be fine.

Well basically its like being in a very long bus ride. U will b served food and beverage, of course. U will b asked to buckle up when taking off and landing or when there are turbulances. Unless u got air sick, everything should b fine

One my first ever plane trip I went international ( came here to Australia ) It was easy felt like being in a big bus ( without looking out the windows mind you ..lol ... ) if your really nervous don't look out the windows .. I did it was mind blowing to see the Australian gold coast as we were coming into land yours is a short trip .. get yourself a pack of gum and chew a couple of pieces on take off and then again on landing it will help stop your ears from making popping sounds ... Make sure you tell the attendants that its your first time .. they will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable ... Good luck with the trip ....you can do it !!!

Don't worry about it. I know that seems hard not to, but the more you worry, the scarier it'll be. When you taxi, you barely feel the plane move at all. At this point the cabin crew will tell you all you need to know about what to do in case of emergencies and such. When the plane prepares for liftoff, it starts to go really fast down the runway, and then within 45 seconds you are up in the air. Things may seem a little wobbly at first, but that's just because of moving through the different altitudes. Your ears will pop as you climb through the altitudes also. (chewing gum, drinking something, swallowing, or yawning will alleviate the pressure.) Once you are in the air, things will feel smooth. You will hear the humm of the engines, but that's normal, nothing to worry about. I actually find it relaxing. If there is turbulence, you might feel the plane wobble a little bit, but remember, planes are designed to withstand this, so take a deep breath and try not to think about it. When you are approaching landing, your ears will pop as you descend through the altitudes (remember: chewing gum, drinking something, swallowing, or yawning will alleviate the pressure). You will feel the plane slow down and the cabin crew will prepare you for landing. When the plane touches down it kind of feels like a short jolt, and then you hear them cut the engines off and the plane slows down pretty fast. From there, the plane will taxi to either the gate or the designation where a bus will pick you up. You wait for the plane to decompressurized a few moments before they start letting the passengers out. That was your flight. Hope you have a good one, and since it's so short, it'll be over and done with before you know. To entertain yourself: - Bring along a few book, magazines, puzzles (such as crosswords or Sodoku if you like those). - Bring along an iPod, MP3 player, or CD player to listen to music. - A laptop is good to have as you can play games on it, connect to the internet, and get any work done that you may have. - Try talking to the people next to you. Sometime you will meet some really interesting people, and forge friendships. Be sure to wear comfy clothes so you can relax and enjoy the flight. For information on what is and is not allowed on the plane go to the TSA website at: http://www.tsa.gov/ Good luck!

How do you play the "airplane" game where you try to figure out the destination

How do you play the "airplane" game where you try to figure out the destination?
Ok so there are a couple of my friends playing this "airplane" game??? Basically it starts out like this...: We are in Columbus but we have 2 hr flight delay to Richmond, then from Richmond we have 4hr lay-over to San Diego... Ok now where are we going to end up? Ok they wont tell me how to play, they say that i have to figure it out on my own :D. Also, it has something to do with the flight pattern they said. I tried drawing lines and maping it out. I thought it might be the first letter of the city or a picture but no luck there. Does anyone know how to play this game and could PLEASE tell me how to figure it out lol? This is a crazy game lol but i just wanna know how to play it!

Christmas Day is usually a light day for airlines as people should already be at their destinations. See what fares Southwest Airlines has out of Columbus. You may have to connect at Chicago Midway. However right now with airlines all cutting flights, you should buy your tickets as soon as possible. Travel advisers say if you do not book your ticket now, you run the risk of not being able to book a flight.

LAX-NYC-CMH and back... can I just use the LAX-NYC leg or will I get in trouble

LAX-NYC-CMH and back... can I just use the LAX-NYC leg or will I get in trouble?
TO fly to NYC from LA it is about $400. I found a $200 ticket LA-Columbus, Ohio that goes through JFK both ways. Ridiculous but could I take the flights between LA and JFK only?

That wouldn't work. You can get to JFK and get off the plane, that's fine. However, when you want to leave JFK and you check in with that airline, one of two things will happen: 1.) The airline has cancelled your return portion because you didn't show up in CMH to fly back to JFK. 2.) The agents at JFK will see what you are doing and they will charge you a change fee to do it. They won't be able to just check you in for the JFK-LAX leg as it's built into the computer as a connection and you must have already checked in at CMH. So they will charge you probably the $100 change fee. Now if that's still less than your direct flights, then you can try it, but I've bust many customers before attempting to do such a thing. My advice would be to just buy the direct trip and save yourself the hassle.
2 :
If you're going to give it a shot, you risk the airline cancelling/taking away your frequent flyer miles, too. I mean, if you don't have any, then go crazy... but I'm not sure it's worth it. Your name will be in their system as a CHEATER. Again, I'm not too worried about losing my friendship with an airline, but hey...
3 :
sure, but they will cancel the return part of your ticket, so you wouldn't be any better off
4 :
Gal, you have to use all the legs on your ticket for the fare. If you do not fly the JFK-CMH leg, the airline will cancel your reservation for the return trip. And the airline would be within its rights to charge your credit card for any additional fare for the one-way trip, if applicable. Regards, Dan

I have an idea for a story but it isn't completely formed yet. I wrote a bit just to mess around.?
I'm not sure if I should try some more or not. I've only ever had one story that I actually stuck with before and I'm still working on it, but this is just another idea. This bit doesn't give you an idea of what it's about but please tell me what you think anyways. Thanks. HERE IS: July 25, 2011, Ms. Garza handed me a small black book that looked like it could be about a hundred years old and I took it wearily. I don’t like Crazy Garcia at all. “Your new foster parent wants you to write in this. Don’t ask me why.” Her blubbery voice crackled in boredom. “Foster parent?” Parent. As in only one? I thought. “I said, don’t ask me questions kid.” She snapped. “Sorry.” I mumbled in reflex. “C’mon.” Hissed the old lady. As fat as she was her face still looked hollow and gaunt as she waddled out the door, leaving me to drag my suitcase, pillow, and giant duffle bag all in one. Everything I owned. Crazy Garcia tapped her foot impatiently as I dragged my belongings across the gravelly parking lot to her pink ’67 Cadillac. She couldn’t wait to get rid of me. Well I can’t wait to get rid of you either, you witch, I thought. I would’ve said it out loud, but I needed the ride. Forty-five minutes later the Cadillac’s engine was stalling outside Salt Lake City International Airport. “Here” Crazy Garcia said and shoved a ticket into my already full hands. “Wha--- what?” I stuttered. “No. No, you can’t leave me here!” “Your flight is the 1:45 to Columbus, Ohio.” “Ohio!” I gulped. “Go on.” She said, bored by my worried charade. “Hold on….” I was really starting to panic now. “I’ve never been to an airport in my life. I’ve never been on a plane, ever. Please! I’m terrified of flying.” Crazy Garza only smirked as she put the gear in reverse. “See you kid.” “Please don’t leave me!” Was I really begging Crazy Garcia not to go away? “I’ve got things to do…” Was the last I heard from her as her car flew away from the curb. I stood there shaking for a good ten minutes, my things scattered around me. “What the hell” was all I could think. Was I even going to be adopted or had that just been a ploy to get rid of me? People milled around me busily, luggage in tow. Some stood by the doors smoking that last puff of cigarette. I gulped the smoky air, anxiously. It was 12:15. I couldn’t be sure, but I don’t think that gave me a whole lot a time. I gathered my things and stepped through the sliding doors. I was greeted by about a million more people swarming around in bunches. It was the first time I even had a chance to discover I was claustrophobic. I went to the closet desk were a bored looking lady with tired eyes was sitting, pulling at her frizzy hair. “Excuse me,” I mumbled my voice was pathetically small. “Could you tell me where I need to go to get to this flight?” “Terminal C, gate 133, take a left down there and follow the sign.” Her voice was nasally, just like Crazy Garcia’s and she talked to me like I was stupid. Where kids even allowed on flights by themselves? Great another thing to worry about, I thought as I slipped into a line where people were taking off their shoes and putting their bags in gray containers. Everyone looked bored and tired like they had done it a thousand times.

sorry but this just seems like a juvenile collection of thoughts rather than a coherent story. It's not helped that youchange the name from Garza to Garcia in the first 2 lines!

I just wrote this randomly and I'd like to know how it is. Is there anything I can work on? I really like your story! I want to know what will happen!

Since this is my type of story, I think it has loads of potential to be a great story. It may need some adjusting here and there, using a little more detail - I said a little - and more descriptive vocabulary, but other than that, it's a great, brilliant, well thought out start to a story. Hope to see it on the shelf one day! By the way, what's the main character's name that is telling the story.

I like it, but it could use a little tweaking. When it first started, I was kind of confused on what these people were doing, and I don't remember you mentioning the young girls name. You did eventually explain what was happening, but I just felt the beginning was a little scattered. Oh and I picked up that you said "Crazy Garza" a lot. I understand she's a person, but it just sounded a little over said; you could of just said "she" and I would have understood who you were talking about. Other than that it sounds interesting. :)
4 :
Really good, I just have a few things to point out. Um, you write "Crazy Garcia" and "Crazy Garza" for just one character. Read it over, you'll see. And you say "Crazy" too many times, you might just want to call her "Garcia" or "Garza", and put in the "Crazy" every once in a while. I'd reccommend you only call her "Crazy" in two sentences: "I don’t like Crazy Garcia at all." and "Was I really begging Crazy Garcia not to go away?". Anyway, you really have something good here! Keep up the good work!
